All Saints Church, Tamrookum
All Saints Anglican Church at Tamrookum near Beaudesert is family-owned, built in 1915 as a memorial to Robert Martin Collins, one of the advocates of Queensland’s first national parks.
The timber chapel was designed by renowned architect Robin Dods.
While worshippers gather only once a month now. Wedding parties and music events are common.
In 2008, a state government conservation heritage grant helped restore the church’s leadlight windows, designed by English church architect Sir Richard Lorimer and made in England by glass artisan Una Adamson.
Rector, Fr David Lunniss, says of the windows—restored to their original glories: "Unlike the Sistine Chapel, where people hated the magnificent colours revealed once centuries of candle grime was removed, we’re all thrilled."
