Bowen Consolidated Colliery
The Bowen Consolidated Colliery in Scottsville is one of the earliest and most intact former underground coal mines in Queensland. Established in 1919, it became one of the first successful mines in the Bowen Basin. The site which covers almost five hectares includes a fascinating collection of buildings, machinery and even a railway that together tell the story about how people lived and worked on the mine site.
