Committees

Policy Committee members are Howard Guille (chair), David Eades and Jane Lennon. The committee’s main tasks involve:

implementation of the Queensland Heritage Strategy
management of the Heritage Council’s strategic plan
development of heritage policy and initiatives as referred to by the Heritage Council
coordination of the Heritage Council’s strategic projects and budget.

Strategic Register Committee members are Peter Marquis-Kyle, Rod Litste and Chris Buckley. The committee’s main jobs are:

hearing oral representations from owners and community members about places proposed for inclusion in the Queensland Heritage Register
deciding which places will be entered in the register (the committee has delegation from the Queensland Heritage Council to make these decisions)
advising the heritage council about appeals concerning heritage registration
considering applications for removal of places from the heritage register.
